Megan Bryar's Shouts

Oh! You've got the cute chocobun that Mal drew the other day! I'm a tad late to thanking you for following my work, but it's kinda a funny coincidence that I hung out in the stream where that picture was drawn haha.
-
That's me! And it's okay. While thanks for the watch, etc, comments are always nice to get, I don't expect it of people, either. You're most welcome, though, and it's just a shame it took me so long to find you here. I've really admired your work for some time now! It is a funny coincidence about the stream, but pretty neat, too!
-
I typically don't like to shout people's pages with a 'thanks for the watch' message tbh. It's basically like spam and really impersonal. I look at everyone's profiles and galleries, and if I have something to say besides the generic thing, I'll shout that instead. I mean, it's more fun that way for everyone, I think! And thank you very much for the kind words! I appreciate them. ♥

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers- thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."--Peter S Beagle, 14 July 1973
I'm not completely sure what this quote means. I'm pretty sure the "thieves planting flags" refers to the European explorers colonizing (or rather, invading) America (and other similar situations that surely transpired throughout history), and that makes sense. But who are the "murderers carrying crosses"? The only person I can think of who carried a cross was Jesus, and he's obviously not a murderer no matter who you ask. XD And who are "colonizers of dreams"? What does that mean?
-
By "murderers carrying crosses", I've always assumed he was referring to events like the Crusades and/or any of the many attempts, throughout history, that people have made to spread their religion by the sword. I doubt he meant it to have anything to do with the actual story of Jesus. As for the "colonizers of dreams", this quote is taken from a foreword that Mr. Beagle wrote for a collection of Tolkien's works, so he was referring to writers and artists and everyone who creates anything to fire the imagination.

There's just one problem with your uploading all your art here too. I haven't got the whatever it takes to go on through and fave it all on another site and it makes me feel guilty not to.
. For me, I haven't the time or willingness to upload everything to multiple sites. It feels like a waste of time and overkill.-
I'm sorry about that. But I don't expect you, or anyone, to go through and favorite and/or comment on everything I upload on every single site I post to. That would be silly, not to mention more than a little selfish. I'd originally just meant to upload enough art of each character so that I can have back-up links to send to artists in case FA should go down again. And I just kind of got carried away. But this is really just meant to be a sort of back-up gallery like that.
Besides, I understand the feeling. I don't have nearly the number of pictures added to my favorites here as I do on FA, either. So don't feel bad!
