Kind of bummed how badly my scanner mutilated this image. I promise there's actually blue in the shading, and more shades of grey than depicted here.
Also I went a tad bit crazy with the pen...

As I said in the note, this is gorgeous. Your take on him captures the essence of his character with but a glance. Your use of his chains as a stylistic framing device is genius and gives the composition such great flow. I especially love how you handled the texture and quality of his skin, and how you did his hands (you're getting pretty good at those I noticed!). Blues and cool tones...my favorite.

Seeing this piece this morning just made my day, and I'm overjoyed to hear you had so much fun drawing him. Would you be so kind as to send me a Collection offer? This, and your art in general, needs even more exposure.

      Thank you!
I'm glad I got a chance to draw such an awesome character, his design gave me so much to work with, and there was no way I was going to pass up a chance to do something with those chains.

Sure thing, I always forget that feature is on this site.

I knew he'd turn out awesome, and you've done a pretty incredible job here. Shen is freaky as fuck and he does what he does best here. I think I'll have to follow you.

      Thank you!
I adore anything weird, so Shen was a great character to work on.

Holy crap, this is GORGEOUS! The inking style just screams 'professional comic book levels have been reached', and I really really love the character's atypical appearance (especially those chain-hands). What a beautiful combination of media, execution of form and modeling, and a wonderful composition to boot! I need to get more excuses to draw critters like this, and go pull on some coattails of owners of said weird monstrosities. Thank you for the inspiration!

      Thank you very much.
I still have a lot to learn about inking, but I'm really flattered by your compliments.
Haha, now go forth and draw weirdness.

Pardon me for butting in just a bit, but thank you for the compliment regarding his design! I admit I can be a little self-conscious giving others my more unusual character designs to draw, but it always works out in the end one way or another. I never would have volunteered him if I didn't think she couldn't pull it off amazingly, and lo and behold she did.

Not a problem!! ^w^ I'm so glad you wrote this, and that you offered this a character for her to draw!

I have to go with LaccathuFurvicael's comment too. This just screeeeams proffessional comic book artist" like, woah! I jove the crosshatching, the clackened-out parts and overall, the anatomy is sooooo good! I drool over art like this, keep it up please! :D

      Thank you very much!
I'm trying to get braver with more extreme shading, and I'm glad everyone likes this one. I was so nervous about using this much black
