:Commission: Twin Sepia Tigers

Sparkyopteryx

Another Celtic-inspired knotwork commission for teiirka I was finally able to play around with the "sepia" style and as I suspected, it came out lovely and it was lovely to work on. This time around I didn't want too much convolutions in the figures themselves but instead focused on the knotwork created by the tails. There's actually a second border outside the one you see here but I sadly had to crop it out because the scanner glass was too small to scan all the way to the edges. Oh well.

I actually wasn't going for perfect symmetry of the tigers, since the one on the right is supposed to be male and the one on the left is female, hence slight intentional size differences of their heads.

Now that I have this piece finished, it's time to send all those commissions out! Done on 9x12 smooth white Bristol with sepia Microns, felt tip pen and a brown Tombow. Art copyright is jointly owned by myself and the commissioner.

    OMG! This is gorgeous!

Just got home and clicked on Weasyl and its home page came up. The first thumbnail in the line immediately caught my attention and I just knew it was your work. Clicked on it and WOW!

Thank you so much! :D <3

Ha! I've found a lot of my thumbnails these days are awfully distinctive. I'm glad you like so much; the knotwork especially was the most fun for me, and to date it's the most complicated interlacing I've done.

You still have the same address as before, yes? I'll be sending this and all your previous pieces on their merry way in a couple days!

Oh goodness trying to follow those tails makes your eyes want to simultaneously shrivel, spin, and implode. I think you did an excellent job on this, it's gorgeous and I hope to see you get more commissions of this type.

It's uh, not that hard...alright at a certain point it starts to get a little difficult. It's a good thing I didn't try making them two different colors, eh? I'd adore even more of these commissions; I'm going to make these Celtic-inspired pieces a staple instead of just offering them in March.
