Norse-style badge for Jake by Sparkyopteryx

Norse-style badge for Jake

Sparkyopteryx

I couldn't help but upload this after he approved of it; I freaking love how it turned out, for one. I normally don't hold badge commissions but after swandog approached me with the possibility of me doing it for Staghorne over on FA (I don't know your name here on Weasyl if you have one. I'll send a Collection request if you make yourself known!) due to her being too busy, I just had to do it. He ended up being very pleased with it, so if the commissioner is happy therefore so am I! Despite the fact that I've been enamored of ancient Norse and Scandinavian folklore for many years, I myself have not made much in the way of art or knotwork pertaining to it. That is a failing on my part! I'm hoping this badge sets a nice precedent for more themes like this to come. This actually scanned pretty damn well, although with the actual piece the green "orbs" pop out a little more.

Done with Derwent Coloursoft pencils and Tombow pens over a light dusting of chalk pastel on white Bristol, this badge measures 3x4 inches. Art done by myself, character belongs to commissioner and copyright jointly owned by the artist and the client.

You're entirely welcome; I had a blast doing it! Another bit of good news is that as long as the mail moves as it should, he most likely will also get the physical product by the con.

...I really, really gotta do more Norse stuff now. XD All those references are great for my inspiration.

Yay! :D And if all else fails, he can print it out and laminate that version of it, so he'll have a backup to wear. :) Did you get the zip file of Celtic pics too? :)

Yep! Either way, he'll have it.

I did indeed! Some images I even recognize. I'm up to my ears in awesome reference material!
