Really, FA set the bar so low that it honestly would have been difficult for Weasyl not to be better. That being said, though, it blows me away just how much better they are. Really, they could have won the race by default solely by sowing up to it more-or-less sober--that's all they would have needed--and yet here they are running their hearts out, doing tricks, and showing off. Like, for the admin/general population relations, they only level they needed to reach to beat FA was not-abusive, and yet theirs is amazing. Then you add in the folder system and general site construction awesomeness, quick responsiveness to issues that arise, and even the general niceness of the community they've attracted, and just .. man, Weasyl rocks.

You know, much as I hate the way FA is run, it's not really unique to them. A lot of FA's issues were also issues with Yerf, Furnation, and even the VCL to an extent. The fact of the matter is, Weasyl is the first TRULY professionally run furry site that I can remember encountering.

Thank you so much!! haha I'm new on here but yeah seeing how things run and how the team really tries hard to work together has impressed me before, and even more now that I'm a part of it. I also love the userbase as well :D I did before I became a part of the staff, and now even more so!

I'm glad it's turned out to be such a positive experience for you! Truth be told, I've considered volunteering myself (and I did actually toss my hat into the ring the round before last) but I honestly don't know if I'd have the time and dedication that you guys do.

I concer. There's certainly no BS or shenanigans about the site or its staff. It's heartening to know they care for both their user and subsequently the furry community.

Seriously, it really is. For all of its faults, I've always felt the fandom deserved to have a better central hub. I hope that eventually other people see the light and gravitate this way.
