Personal - Chop Due Regard

TwilightSaint

Painted, (aka, Lineless!) Epic Scene of Sniper, my Kestrel Angel Dragon, overflying the open ocean on a surveillance mission, anticipating extra tasking at a moment’s notice.

Since I've started my Aviation career in the Navy, I've been more than inspired by not only soaring above the clouds sitting on several-thousand horsepower engines, but also learning about and practicing the various missions that I'll undertake. I'm lucky enough to be part of a very unique community in the Navy with a very multi-faceted mission set.

One of my favourite practice missions has been undergoing 'due regard,' a process where an aircraft completely cuts ties with land-/ship-based controllers, and completes the mission in international waters in accordance with standoff and, in its most basic form, comes down to the Rules of the Road.

It's only you, the aircraft, and what lies above - and below - the open ocean.

This piece, and Sniper's mission and backstory, plays a small part in recreating that feeling. Pure independence and old-school flying. You still have a mission to complete, but it's up to you how to do it efficiently and safely, and how skilled you are when it comes to thinking tactically. Focus, drive, power!

Thanks for checking it out, and Happy New Year!

Ooh nice character design! Love the colours of the feathers. Angle and the conveneintly aligned godrays as well a the blurriness of the water gives a nice sense of speed. Nice work!
