I'm not not sure what brought this about. I was asked to/wanted to draw a Pachirisu, and for whatever reason this character came to mind. I spent a lot of time trying to get the pose and the size of the head right in the sketch that for a while my motivation went down. I seem to change the proportions of things all the time, because it's still not the official appearance, but maybe I shouldn't worry about that.

I'm trying to have a goal of practising something in particular with anything I draw as of late. Besides getting blenders and blending in traditional art down, I also wanted to do more non-standing idle poses and foreshortening.

... whaddya mean this is still pretty much standing idle...

I dont know of the character but your foreshortening and your coloring is quite nice. My only advice would be that next time maybe try a wider range of colors, for example desaturated colors within the saturated colors or warmer colors next to cooler colors. These add certain emotions to the piece.

I was actually trying the opposite in terms of the colour scheme, I almost wanted to make the robes purple or pink but I felt it would clutter things, so I made it blue to relate to the markings and the sword-hilt slightly green to link to the base of the robes.

Having the robes more desaturated would've been an idea though.

I personally think proportion changes are quite interesting. It looks good on a variety of Pokémon. Though do try what IRCSS said; desaturation makes almost everything more interesting. :U
