Yuuka hurled the boomerang and focused.
"Fu, Kou!" Channeling her magical aura into the weapon, she re-directed its path. All three target boards were knocked over as the boomerang bounded between them, before nicely returning to the claws of the White Dragonkin.
"That still catches many off guard."
"Captain Jarrid!"
"At ease soldier." The Brown Dragonkin nodded. "I know you're off duty right now, but I wanted to let you know that I received your notice of resignation. I really don't blame you too. Guess this small town finally got too boring for you?"
"I do appreciate the job and opportunity here sir." Yuuka replied.
"So do we. It was very enlightening to have a former member of the Medical Corps here with us."
"I did my part in the war. Just figures I'd be a stereotypical member of my Flight and put our Light elemental magic to healing uses."
"Users of healing magic are very often under appreciated."
"We help your body to heal, not work miracles. That's a thing that a lot don't get." The White Dragonkin sighed.
"Have you decided on your next destination yet?"
"Not really. I'll stay around with the town guard for a while more until then. Or maybe I'll go back to wandering again. I've always enjoyed the road, even with the occasional danger."
"Indeed, there's too many still reeling from the aftereffects of the war. Fighting is what they've known best, and it's what they'll do." Jarrid replied. "I'm sure you don't want to end up back here with another busted knee."
"I've made sure to get better knee armor since then." Yuuka laughed.
