Looks like I'll be migrating some content over again in the next few days. I swear, the way these things are going I'm gonna get whiplash.
Anyway, hi new folks! Hope you enjoy the site :)
yeah i mean its a good site and i like it, but most of what i do on fur sites revolves around the community so whatever does happen, i'm going to make sure i can keep a place for where i can keep in touch with my favorite artists and friends. this again means i need like 5 different accounts on 5 sites bleh, lol.
Yep... there was a stiff breeze... so, naturally it kicked off another FA mass exodus from the drama llamas...
Mmmh... I think people have some pretty valid reasons to be upset, going back quite a while now. We'll see what happens I suppose.
Well... they might have valid reasons... if much of them weren't invalidated by the fact that the merger/purchase/etc was 2 months ago and nobody noticed (or cared) until the official announcement. Nothing's changed, not much probably wil change and everyone's losing their minds. Me? I'm just watching from a safe distance with a bag of popcorn.
Personally I'm still a bit wary, because there HAS to be a monetary reason for them to have invested in the site, and we don't know what that is yet -- "advertising" seems unlikely to be all of it. But whatever, it gives me the impetus to stop slacking over here, haha.
Heh.. fair enough. I have my Weasyl here as backup as well... and some of my friends have moved over here anyways, so it was good to keep watching them. Still need to think up an icon XD
Still, unless FA does something to directly screw me or my friends over, I don't care too much. It's not like I was ever popular enough for someone to steal my art... and I doubt IMVU would want it anyways.
Yeah. We'll see what happens -- I can't imagine it going in any kind of different direction from DeviantArt. The only scary thing is if they try to cut into transactions in the future. The Q&A post has said that won't be happening, so with any luck, it really won't.
Yeah... corporate "promises" are always tricky. It might just be that they're simply going to use the site for ad revenue, maybe try to intice people into playing and try to make more simple background profits from what is ultimately a successful website.
If I was behind IMVU and made this acquisition, I would honestly use this as a way to create promotional material. I mean, think about it - you have a site chock full of artists... many who are very well-known just for their art style alone. Asking those people, commissioning them or heck, even just opening up contests to make ads for them with various prizes (possibly related to IMVU itself) would be a smart move. You'd certainly get people who'd be interested in doing something (especially for a contest). It's win-win in the end (so long as they do it legit and don't simply steal art as assets for their ads).
HOORAY I'm pretty sure I watch you everywhere else you update stuff when you do so it's probably not that different but i'm always eager to see your things in my inbox uwu
