🌱Use More specific tags for fetishes Plz by Uluri

(this site could use tag suggestions when filling the tag space)
Hiya, just a journal to folks who make fetish themed content. Can you add more specific tags to it so that it is easier to filter between the content and regular content? Examples of this are as follows with reasoning:

Fat fetish content: fatfetish fat_fetish hyper hyperfat hyper_fat weightgain weight_gain
I am not interested in fat fetish related content, but don't want to remove all fat or chubby characters from view. I find it difficult to filter the fetish content from the non-fetish art of chunkier characters as most seem to only use the tag "fat" alone

Same goes for hyper muscles or other hyper body parts. Most folks only tag the body part, but not the fetish itself so I can't filter them properly without having to go to said art themes I dont want to have in my feed to add the tags myself. I dont want to filter muscular or toned characters, just the fetish related art.

Also, Vore artists, most of what you draw is soft_vore. It's good to have the vore tag for folks who don't like vore all together, but I suggest adding the tags for the specific type of vore for folks who want to filter between soft_vore, hard_vore, or other types of vore.

That's a good suggestion! Tag suggestions would be really welcome. I make some fat content myself, and it never entered my mind to use separate tags regarding if it's fetishized or just kinda there, until I read this here.

Tag suggestions would be really helpful! I remember DeviantArt had that a while back, those autocomplete suggestions made it a bit easier to figure out what sort of tags other people in the community were using.
(I'd also love to see some sort of "tags master list" for normies like me who don't know about the more niche/community slang/fandom-oriented/fetish-oriented tags that might be useful when tagging on various art sites.)

That said... should I be tagging some of my critters as "fat fetish"? I draw a lot of chubby critters but most of mine have body types I'd describe as "American" lol. Overweight, but not to the extremes I see in what is blatantly "fat fetish art".

      Huehue American. Huhuhue.

I add the tag "chubby" for average fat characters like that and not fat fetish. And you shouldn't have to tag "fat fetish" for art that's merely overweight and not extreme body fat. Like, if the fat is the type that is like where it would be abnormal or immobile (or the art would be sexual in nature).

It be why I am making a distinction between hyper with other types of body parts, too. When you think of regular large boobs, you got an idea in there. Now Hyper boobs, I bet you clearly had a different image. Normal big Butts, now hyper butts. A muscular character, and a hyper muscular character. Fat, hyper fat. A Short character, and a micro character. Tall character, now macro.

"American" is really the best way I can describe a lot of the builds I commonly draw, it seems accurate based on personal experience. Overweight, round, but still perfectly capable of daily activities, even if their pants might split in the process or their shirts might not quite cover their bellies sometimes.

I don't think I've ever drawn any creature that looks like it gets exhausted just by sitting up, or requires the aid of a forklift to get around, but I wanted to make sure (in your opinion) that I'm fine with just general "fat" and "chubby" tags.
If I ever miss something or you think of something that might be helpful, I appreciate the help. I love how Weasyl has the option to suggest tags and I have gotten some helpful suggestions from that in the past, which I sometimes go back and add to the tags on FA as well.

Yeah I had similar issues where I would look for things or just hit browse and it would be flooded with fetish art and I got fed up of having this massive list of words for the filter that didn't really seem to make filtering easier. I felt kinda like I shouldn't really bring it up though because I'm not a furry and the main demographic on here seems to be furries and I didn't wanna come across as a basher or whatever you know?

Fetish art is apparent in the Human art category, too. It's just the population atm is mostly furries, even though this isn't a site meant for just furries. Just so happens a lot of em chose here and the human artists didn't stay. It's supposed to be an all-rounder art site. Just cause there's more Furries atm, doesn't mean you can't suggest something to make life more comfortable to exist on the site. I don't like fetish art that is unable to be filtered from regular content, as it defeats the purpose of a filtering system. It's annoying. I have 80+ tags filtered with every alternate i can think of that won't also filter regular art, and certain themed folks never seem to tag their work specific enough.

I'll keep it in mind if I think of any suggestions.

I figured people probably didn't stay because the vibe here is kinda slow, chill and laid back and they probably came from DA where things were still pretty active despite the issues people had with the site.
I have cleared out my filters because no matter how many variants or words I put in the list, it didn't thin out the content I didn't want so I am just dealing with it tbh.

That's usually the case when people leave it's always titled "No interaction, I'm leaving!!!!!1" after about a week of them being on here maybe spam uploading one day out of them all and nothing else, not even commenting/faving on other's works. TuT makes me sad

Despite this place being so chill, I have had more engagement with my work and with other people than I did back on DA or even on Instagram.

            • Link

Oh yeah! This place is way more active than my DA right now and I even had 2k watchers over there. I like that folks actually comment and chitter about things when they do.
