Several miles south of the desert metropolis-city state of [ Tsai [LINK] ](http://www.weasyl.com/submission/25297/the-city-state-of-tsai-maranda) lays its main port, South Tsai. While the sultan lives in her palace, and the traders do the majority of their buying and selling in the desert city to the north, a vast majority of the goods bought and sold in Tsai come through South Tsai.

South Tsai differs from its northern cousin in a large number of ways. For one, it is located in the humid, dark swamp, rather than the dry, sunbaked desert. For two, although Tsai has a small port of its own, being on a massive river, it cannot at all rival the location of South Tsai right on the sea.

...and for three? The parties. South Tsai is well known for extravagant celebrations, rowdy music, and good times. Colorful festivals often happen here. Some celebrate the dead, some celebrate the sea, some celebrate just because it's fun to celebrate.

The area has some pretty interesting legends in it, connecting to the God of Shadows, many of them rather dark. There's certainly some strange juju in the area...
