This is a first part in a commission for usernames Kimono-Box-Fox and Ghrom. A group of researchers are taken by a surprise by the amalgamate as they are taking samples from the local water table. Unfortunately the amalgamate had already breached far further into their defenses and they are caught in their ambush by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
