Bio: Tim Barrington had one simple goal in life: be one of the best mechanics in Chicago. Unfortunately, life, as usual, conspired against him. Poor business sense, a sluggish economy, criminal activity, and his depressing personality led to his business drying up, forcing him to close his shop and declare bankruptcy.

His fortune deteriorated even further. Thanks to his lack of contact with others, his unemployed status, and his mechanical skill, he was targeted by Dr. Shift, a mad scientist. The gorilla ambushed Tim in his home, abducted him, and transplanted his brain, eyes, and spinal cord into a robot body. Dr. Shift planned to make Tim build more robotic bodies, so the madman could refine his technique on other victims, and eventually transplant himself into one. Tim loathed the idea, but was forced to cooperate, as Dr. Shift was the only one with access to the ingredients for the nutrient mixture that fueled the mechanic's nervous system.

Then, the Chicago Incident occurred. All Tim was able to do was curl up, while Dr. Shift was killed by a pack of crazed fursons mutated by the supervirulent strain of the New York Virus. When the coast was clear, Tim took stock of his surroundings. He was able to download his own schematics, as well as those for the device that refilled his nutrient cylinders, but he found that he only had ingredients to last him for three days.

Tim figured he was going to die, and began recording what he thought was going to be his final message to the world. But two days later, a team of BOS agents discovered Dr. Shift's laboratory while searching for any remaining mutants. At first, they were afraid that he was weaponized, but the agents quickly realized that Tim was a total coward incapable of even basic combat. They also noted his incredible skill as a mechanic. Several members were still suspicious, believing he had embedded programming that would activate when he was within BOS secure areas. However, after several diagnostic tests, numerous interviews, and much deliberation, the Bureau allowed Tim to join the Chicago branch as a support agent. During that time, his gloomy, pessimistic attitude earned him the nickname "Marvin," after the synthetically depressed robot from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

Personality: Dark, sarcastic, and pessimistic, Tim has no hobbies, no interest in becoming a full BOS agent, and no interest in developing romantic relationships with anyone. He usually prefers to be left alone to his work. The only time he ever seems to get excited is when he gets to analyze technology captured from supervillains.
