Sorry it's not a super quality pic, but here's a traditional conte piece I did for homework in a drawing class I recently took. I'm pretty happy with how this came out, although my teacher didn't seem to care for how blank I left the background, nor how liberally I applied charcoal behind the branch ahahahaha

Ineo and Sapiens are two of my favorite characters of mine to draw. They carry a lot of symbolism and lore, so I enjoy drawing them in really "mythical" settings idk

"Guilt" and its characters belong to me.
Drawn with conte, charcoal, stuff like that

The charcoal does kind of throw it off, but I think the 'blank' background works great from a color balance standpoint!

Probably could have carried it throughout the image a bit better, but idk something about adding a rich slap of black around the branch really made me like this ahahaha (before adding that, I wasn't really liking how the drawing looked.) I've always seemed to like images with an "unfinished" sort of quality to them, though, so I'm likely influenced by a bad trait there lol

It's totally not a 'bad trait'... well, it might be to schools and grades but really as long as you're happy and aren't failing. XD It DOES add a certain 'oomph' that the picture might be lacking without it, for sure!

Truth be told, I LIKE that jet black charcoal! I wish this was clearer because it looks a beautiful piece :3 Loving the texture of the tree and the fur detail :D
