Nanook Peraro by Susiron

Nanook Peraro

Susiron

This is one of those paintings where I completed it months ago, but I'm still really proud of it?? The cloth's eh, but I like the subject a lot in general

Nanook is a celebrated author within Lorn. He has written many informative and insightful books-- with subjects ranging from botany to zoology to sociology. He travels across Lorn, tirelessly seeking new content for his writings. He has a particularly strong interest in dragons and mikkens, and has lived in every corner of the country for at least five years.

Despite the fame associated with his name, Nanook is rarely recognized in person. Most people assume that Nanook is either an elf or avian, never a scraggy gray canid. Nanook also makes it a point to never give his true name while in the presence of unwelcome company. He tends to go by Ivan Basilicus as an alias, stealing the name of his long-time traveling companion's brother and posing as his cousin.

Nanook is heavily wanted by the human government for his work. Throughout the current king's reign, books of "questionable" content have been confiscated and burned and the making of books as a whole is strictly prohibited unless personally authorized by the king himself or the leaders of his subordinate facilities.

Nanook's books still manage to thrive, however. There are several large printing presses in the Banister that work around the clock to manufacture, almost exclusively, his novels.

Nanook is about 7'2" tall and has a rough accent (something of a Russian/Scottish blend) that can make it difficult to understand him verbally from time to time; he can hardly pronounce his own name correctly. He is 71 years old (with the average lifespan of a canid being about 160 years.)

"Guilt" and its characters belong to me.
Painted on SAI.

I've always struggled with profile humanoid poses, so I'm honestly not sure how I pulled this one off; I'm still quite proud of it ahahahahaha
