Inktober #27: Autumn's Height by Sparkyopteryx

Inktober #27: Autumn's Height

Sparkyopteryx

Grey Selvamille harvesting the last of her chard and leeks before she begins the ritual of putting most of her garden to bed. One of her free-roaming fae cats happened to notice she had some catmint hidden away in that basket and has promptly come over to sample some of it.

Another Sel picture! And with my ongoing drive to do more scenes and illustrative stuff no less. I really wanted to get more of her actual property in the woods that she lives on in Faerie this time, especially that delightful tree house she has (referenced and inspired from an amazing book on tree houses by Pete Nelson that my stepsister sort of bequeathed to me). She actually has two dwellings; the tree house has her sleeping loft, altar, kitchen and area where she stores most of her herbs and one of her pantries, the wood and peat cottage nearby contains the main pantry (all those preserves she makes!), gardening tools, seeds wintering over and anything that doesn't fit or belong in the house.

I've run my mouth enough. Just enjoy the art! (I recommend a download for full view) Done in my moleskine with pigment liners. Character and her setting are the intellectual property of myself.

I still say this would make a delightful book cover.

I love that treehouse, looking forward to ever more scenery from you.

It so would! Selvamille would make an excellent witchy picture book protagonist.
If I can keep up the positive waves and momentum, this will certainly not be the last time.
