A concept I had on a whim last night and decided to draw it; it was a fun little thing to do between commissions. Aaand, it's been a century and a half since I've drawn a dragon. I cannot legitimately call myself a fantasy artist anymore until I redeem myself and draw 50 more...
Done with sepia Micron fineliner and felt pens, a Pilot fineliner and a Spring Green Prismacolor marker on white marker paper. A tad smaller than 8.5x10.
Yeah, I tried to make it look like he was in some kind of stasis tank or whatnot by implying it instead of out and out drawing the whole thing. I think the stylistic effect worked out very well. I like how he fits inside the space too; drawing the lines and then making the figure fit into those lines with freeform sketching is fun.

You know something I notice upon seeing it now that it's submitted? He actually looks like he's smooshed in there, a small detail I've found lacking in a lot of "test-tube" type drawings. Usually they turn out juuuuuuuuust right to fit them in there, rather than give them that squished-in quality that makes more sense to me.
He looks /really/ cool, and makes me want to make a cyber-dragon...
