Portrait of a fairly recent character that I developed that goes by the moniker of "Mr. Jaws" (real name Chawrcel). His biography, which is still in development is right here for those interested (also provides a nice reference).

Interestingly enough, I got the urge to make him a character after he appeared in a dream earlier this month. His appearance is more or less unaltered from what he looked like in it too. A chunk of my stories and settings are actually plucked straight from dreams, so this didn't come as a surprise that he decided to make himself known in my "Uncanny Hosts" setting as an incarcerated enforcer of Lady Absinthe. This (as with a lot of my portraits) originally was supposed to be a second page of his reference but turned into it's own beast. I ended up giving it some subtle color as well and I like the result.

I could yammer on and on about this but I think I want to keep it short this time around. I will say that he is not a hybrid of any kind of dog, nor is he a dragon or shark or whatever. He's a monster dude, therefore he is his own thing. So there. You guys will get to see his girlfriend in a piece I'll be uploading soon.

Done on heavy Aquabee sketch paper with graphite and some Derwent Studio colored pencil accents. 9x12. No references used. Character and art belongs to myself.
