Remember Pulse

Shadane

7 years ago, on this very day, there was a shooting that happened at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Let's just say that an "individual" (and I don't mean that with any respect whatsoever) fired 110 rounds into the club, and 49 people never made it home.
I don't usually draw things like this, but I spent most of my life in a state that recently went purple as LGBT+ rights are slowly being outlawed in half of the US, and I had no choice but to move out of the country after being doxxed years ago for an unrelated reason, these laws give me less of a reason to go back at this time, and it was my home for most of my life. I may not be part of the LGBT community myself, despite being pan and enby, but I've been supportive of the community my whole life, even though I was raised in a household that told me that being myself was "a crime against nature" by some of my family members, so I feel like I especially have to acknowledge such a tragic event.
I wish this world was nothing but sunshine and rainbows like we were taught as kids, but that kind of utopia is but a butterfly's dream.
Character shown above is named Bleddyn, he's from a story in the works called Vindicator which has a few LGBT characters in it, but it's somewhat subtle since the story is primarily adventure focused.

I think any country claiming to allow people to be free to be themselves need to clean up bigotry, to be honest. But that may just be me. shrug I don't think I will ever understand why people intentionally go out to kill other people [with guns], regardless of what anyone believes.

I definitely agree. It used to be like this with anyone who wasn't white, you could treat them however and get away with it up until the civil rights movement. Now they're trying to bring back homophobia tenfold. It's not pleasant.

It’s true……as unfortunate as it is. For every couple steps we move forward into harmony, we fall back a thousand steps into chaos. sigh

Yeah. Thankfully I'm still hopeful, I wish I could say the same for the others around me.
