Ultimately, Succubats still care about the people they used to care about, the things they used to care about. They don't want to leave them, they just, don't always have the choice to keep their friends.
................so I 'm not entirely sure how you're trying to frame this whole phenomenon.
Is being infected a good thing? Bad Thing?
So when you get infected, you're still the same person, just part of you wants to do something the parasite wants, right? Is it possible to ignore the desires of the parasite? Or will they harm the host if they don't follow orders?
The parasite thing seems to be more likened to an incurable terminal disease than anything, even more so to people in relationships. I've always felt a deep discomfort from things like this, good art tho.
Succubats are an allegory for a real thing, but trust me, the things that give you a healthy body you're happy to be in, fix depression, and who form communities with each other to feel safe and welcome, are not an allegory for people dying
woah, I just create this account to leave a comment and start to follow Ficus' art but... woah, this are too much feelings. poor guy, I would feel like him... i feel like him right now and it's... agh, he must be thinking something like "she's not like that, that thing is bad" and I see it like that but... when i see the girl is... I don't like how the succubats force the people to like them, to enjoy them, she looks happy when she transforms and... it's disturbing and it makes me sweat and tremble... now I just want a way to make people "normal" again. by the way, I don't speak english and i'm new in all this of the... Ficus' art (universe or fandom) but, I really like the style and the things she draw. I don't think anyone reads this but... woah, I just vent about this here, I hope no one gets mad.
