Auld Lang Syne by OddOly

Auld Lang Syne

I wanted this to be the last upload of 2014 but ran out of time and it became the first upload of 2015. To be fair, so far 2015 does seem disappointingly very much like 2014 but hey, there's still 363 days to improve...

  • Gerry is a bit of "an enigma wrapped in a mystery" but not in the way Stephen Moffat usually writes women. She always makes me think of bus stops in the rain and a bunch of songs I can't link yet. Oh, except this one.
  • Donny and Danny and their parents and weird Auntie Ellie (who babysits the kids when she's not busy babysitting these guys)! I want to draw more families this year, I tend to invent characters together with their families but so far I haven't drawn most of them - going to do something about it!
  • Larry Larate in limited palette because GeekyReverie asked! But you'll be seeing him soon anyway.
  • Michelle and Mikey disagreeing about the holiday season. I thought of a Christmas-related comic about them so maybe I'll even do that before the next holiday season. I still need to figure out their home properly, so many settings, so little time...
  • If you got the Terra Nova expedition references you think Teague is a terrible person (and possibly so am I). Don't worry, Al will be rescued eventually and it could be some sort of karmic payback for this...
  • Leicester's boys - his son and his practically surrogate son, I mean his sergeant at the CID (no, they haven't met in the comic yet). Both doodles of Word happened so I could try figuring out his daft hairdo before I draw him in the comic again. I'm afraid the ponytail stays for at least two more chapters.
  • I firmly believe that that smiley looks like Jarvis. I blame the peeps over at Smack Jeeves Forums for this discovery, particularly PeachLuna and butteredhugs! While we're at it, you should check out their comics Nightwalker and Loud Era respectively.
  • And the little doodle with Kevin is dedicated to Cabin Pressure. I feel like drawing something bigger but I almost never draw fanart and I dunno if it can be even expressed in a picture... It's an end of an era. Cabin Pressure was one of those things that changed my life by existing, pulled me through many sad times, taught me a few things about writing (and just looking at the world, I guess) and I couldn't ask for more but I'm still sad that this is the end even if it's a brilliant end. I ended up drawing Kevin even though I imagine Wayland talking in John Finnemore's voice but more wheezy.

And that's it for now. I'm working on comic pages now but I did manage to finish my main doodling sketchbook before 2014 ended so I'm excited to start a new one.
