Tortoise, binturong, raccoon by moult

Tortoise, binturong, raccoon

moult

More experimentation with new styles and seldom-drawn species.

Music nerd bonus point to the first person to quote me the lyric on the back of the t-shirt.

hm! i don't think i've ever seen someone draw a tortoise without a readily visible shell, but it's definitely still identifiable as one

A shell did cross my mind. (I guess it wasn't a blue shell, since it didn't connect :)

If I had to rationalise it… my critters are basically people, with all their abilities and customs, including wearing clothes; so in my designs I tend to keep animal features that are compatible (tails, horns), and edit out features that would conflict (shells, spines, flippers). Or maybe that I think I can make a sweater tell about a character more than a shell could. Not sure that's really worked here, though.

At least it's a boat neck, which is kind of like the opening to a shell…? :)
