Byzantine Badges - How do they shine?

Some photos of how the metal leaf actually reflects light! They seem to glow in the dark and flare in the light!

Is adding leaf to marker/ water colour work hard? I've always fancied trying it.

I haven't worked with marker or watercolor on these so I don't know about those specifically but it's really really easy to work with metal leaf/false gold and silver leaf. I simply buy the kits from an art store like Blick; I usually buy the "Old World" brand leafing kits here!

Oooo I'll have to do some tests. Gold would work well with the tea paintings I'm experimenting with. Never tried back in university as our shop had just the leaf priced pretty high.

yeahh I don't use the real stuff, and I remember the school shop back at college being stupid expensive for even the fake stuff too!

Yeah, hard when it was either get new shiny stuff brush pens were my big discovery or have money to be able to eat. Ahh the toils of students. But yeah our shop would over price scrapper board or lino kits.
