KiRAWRa's 2020 Art Summary by KiRAWRa

KiRAWRa's 2020 Art Summary

KiRAWRa

Decided to throw together another one of these on a whim, just because it's kind of fun to see the summarization of a whole year in art.
I was not quite as wild and experimental as [last year], but things still evolved with the way I refined some of my drawing methods and ventured into more textured brush-making.

Possibly the most noticeable thing in this chart is how much of it consists of [Dynamutts].. though it's not that surprising since they're my comfort characters and.. well, 2020 required a lot of comfort.

My end-of-the-year wisdom for you this time is: There are no rules for how an artwork should be made. Just because MOST people follow a certain formula doesn't mean you have to work that way, too. If you get bored halfway through a drawing because the details are too much, if your hands shake and you can't make clean lineart, if you like all your art better as sketches, just work in ways that you find most comfortable. Come up with creative ways to rework, get around, or skip the parts you don't like doing. Develop methods of drawing that play to your strengths and the things you actually like creating. Do things your OWN way, don't chain yourself down to standard methods just because they're standard. Art doesn't always have to be polished and clean, you can call it "finished" whenever you want to call it finished. You'll enjoy what you create and you'll create a lot faster when you use techniques that are suited to you!

Happy New Year everyone, let's hope 2021 is a prosperous year full of creativity! ♥
