A third sketchbook I drew in at TFF this past winter, for the painted dog Utunu. I really enjoyed playing around with the camera angle on this one!
This looks awesome! I love the angle and anatomy and the line dynamics rock. Did you use brush pens? And if so, what brand do you like? I've been trying a bunch of different ones but haven't been able to find one that has such a pretty fine point as what you have here. Perhaps it's not brush pens, though! :)
I usually ink with a W&N Series 7, but when I'm on-the-go at cons, I typically go with either a Kuretake brush pen, or a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. The former is fancy-pants and quite durable, refillable with a variety of inks. The latter packs a significant bang for your buck, and is refillable with Pentel's ink cartridges. It's mostly a difference of spring between the two, so I'll switch depending on how much I want in a particular picture.
Biggest thing is I really prefer brush pens with actual fibers/brush tips, not the foam or felt ones that fray after a quick time. You get a much finer point with brush tips, and they last a lot longer.
Anyway, hope that helps! I can probably dig up some links, too, if you'd like.
