anything that walks by keirajo

anything that walks

I really think my Celstial Host would hit on anything that breathes and walks. Even Flora Beasts. XD

OHMYGOSHLOOKTRADITIONALART. lol Seriously, the heat this summer has been bad for my markers though...I wound up throwing out a lot of my old Prismacolors, which had leaked ink into their caps. I still do all linework traditionally, even when I color digitally though. :)

Disgaea characters belong to Nippon Ichi Software............I'm just having lots of fun interpreting my hired cast. XD

    Nice :)

This is really awesome :D Love all the details!

Thanks! I'm trying really hard to do art with backgrounds, even though it's not my strong point! It's good practice! :D

      • Link

You're welcome! I totally understand, it's not my strong point either so I usually avoid practicing xD It's good to practice though!

        • Link

Yep! That's one reason I started my Keira-Jo "Zone Series"...making me draw lots of backgrounds! :)

He's a keeper if he can woo the baddies into helping out your team xD

      You have a point! XD

Stop being distracted! We are TRYING to do a thing here?!

    Very cute!

BTW, I've been playing PLENTY of "Disgaea 3", recently!

I can now suddenly imagine, based on that game, artwork, of a beast tamer girl, hugging a prinny! (Something cute & slightly silly, of course!)

      Thanks! :D

I haven't played 3 yet..............a friend told me it was pretty punishing. I am not ready for a punishing "Disgaea" series game yet! XD I got a Vita so I could play #3 and #4, but I started with #4 because of the werewolf character (Fenrich), who turned out to be a jerk. But he's still handsome. laughs I can't say I like #4's game mechanic, taken from #3.....with the Geo Symbols being changed and stuff, I know the barrel-things are like the same thing............but you can't clear the colors on a level because there's no neutral Geo Symbol.

The games have such awesome job classes..........I really love the unique designs! :D One thing I do miss, from "Disgaea 2" though...............the Samurai job class. You still have the Lady Samurai by #5, but the [male] Samurai job class is essentially replaced with the Martial Artist and other similar type. But I loved the Samurai's design...............they wore a trenchcoat of sorts. A Samurai in a trenchcoat. XD

        I see!

          :)

          • Link

            Definitely a cool samurai look!

BTW, here are some other sub-character designs from the series, that I liked, among the classes:

            = Beast Tamer {Disgaea 3}
            = Heavy Knight
            = Magic Knight
= Sorcerer (Female; strange, yet somewhat cute! If there was a crossover, between "Disgaea" and "Pokemon", I can imagine one of these gals, having a Cubone, by her side!)
            = Thief

As for prinnies, they're hard not to like, among monster types, but here are some others, that I found very interesting:

            = Flora beast (Definitely!)
            = Dragon Zombie
            = Felynn
            = Holy Dragon
= Mythic beast (Hey; it reminds me, of my dog!)
= Orc (Hey; the design from Disgaea 3, kinda looks like a short, furry pig-man!)
= Slumber Cat (So adorable! it reminds me of my cats.)
= Spirit (This one I found especially interesting!)
= Succubus (Well, definitely fits the "flirting" personality, of this one. But never less, many art, makes this creature type, look cute, in my opinion!)
= Winged Warrior (Including the mothmen!)

            • Link

I rarely use monster-types in combat (story-mode), but will sometimes use them in the Item World. I didn't use many in previous games, beyond Prinnies................but in "Disgaea 5" I used more of them. The new ones, Nine-Tails and Rabbit are really nice job classes--it puts them on par with the humanoid job classes.

              • Link

                I see!

Though if you want a SUPER challenging spin-off, that's a non-RPG experience, try checking out "Prinny: can I Really Be the Hero, Dood?", in addition to "Prinny 2: Operation Panties, Dood!"

It's not only funny, but challenging!

There's also a "visual novel" Disgaea game.......can't remember exactly what it's called. I never finished it, but it was rare for me to finish games on the PSP! XD

I can count those on one hand.......I have like 30 games for it and have finished 2. laughs "Maverick Hunter X" and "Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light"..........but I've at least played them all to a certain point! XD

                  • Link

                    I know that!

YOU HAVE GIVEN ME AN IDEA!

                    • Link

                      OH!

I got mad at the end of "Blade Dancer" because clearly the game has a sequel that never came out here. chuckle It was a great game, but not being able to play the sequel had me angry at the storyline. XD

                        Ah. What a shame!

                        • Link

Yeah............the awkwardness of living in a country that will only put out sequels if the original one makes a lot of money the first time out. :/

                          • Link

Well, awkward as it may seem, I can't necessarily blame them, if it's a bad economy.

Look at what happened, with what could have been "Steambot Chronicles 2"; they most likely canceled it, due to the fact, that the first game wasn't THAT much, of a commercial success! (Though from what I remember, I believe I still have a copy, for the PS2.)

                            • Link

Or localizing the "Gyakuten Kenji 2" game (Ace Attorney Investigations).........but that was a mistake on Capcom's part. I signed a pledge and petition to localize it that already had nearly 10,000 signatures. Even if half those people bought the game, it would've given Capcom enough money to localize it. They simply could care less about their fanbases.............I think they were shocked that the digital releases of the last two AA games sold as much as they did. They should've done "Gyakuten Kenji 2" as a digital release as well. Look how poorly they treat the "Rockman" (Mega Man) franchise, despite the solid fanbase--they wouldn't even let the creator buy back the rights to the character, he had to go make a "rip-off" of his own just to make a new Rockman-style game.

                              • Link

                                Capcom is to blame, unfortunately.

                                • Link

Indeed. Capcom should give up as a company and give their franchises to companies that care. Level-5 would treat the AA franchise awesomely. :)

                                  • Link

Or, they should probably sell ALL of their franchises, to more trustworthy game companies, like "Level 5"! And, they should probably move onto making robotics, if they want to give up, on video games, so badly! (Hey; imagine them eventually making robots based on the "Mega Man" franchise, to be constructed, and even made, to help with communities, and such! (I can imagine myself having a "Reaver-Met"! If that were ever to happen!)

Also, speaking of "Level 5", I own a copy, of "LBX: Little Battler Experience", which is basically a sucsessor, to Nintendo's "Custom Robo".
For effort, f there was more possibility in customization, making battle arenas, and creating custom scenarios, in addition to allowing you to upgrade weaker robot parts, I would have otherwise, given the game a PERFECT 10/10!

                                    That's all I can say.

                                    • Link

Level-5 was the one who petitioned to get "Layton vs. Gyakuten" brought here, since the "Professor Layton" franchise is a bestseller for them. Capcom had refused to do it outright...and when Level-5 was finally given the chance to bring it here, that's why there's new voices for the "Ace Attorney" cast in it. And it took like 2 years after its original Japanese release. :<

All Capcom cares about is "Street Fighter"--they can keep that franchise and give the others away. XD

"LBX" was popular enough in the U.S. that they even translated the manga for it. :)
