Dolphin (Intelligence, Manna)
Dolphin breaches the surface. Dolphin is perhaps most known for its intelligence. Next to primates dolphin is widely regarded as the smartest animal in the world. Dolphins are strongly connected to family and community, helping even the sick or wounded among them. Using clicks and calls dolphins have extreme vocal range. The extent to which dolphin can communicate is not wholly understood. Some of a dolphins clicks are surely used as sonar, an ability dolphin shares with bats. Dolphins have intense breath control with the ability to stay underwater for extended periods of time before surfacing to breathe through their blowhole. Found in oceans all over the world dolphins are widely distributed, but tend towards the shallow seas near continental shelves. Dolphins will engage in non-reproductive sex; one of the few species to do so outside of primates. As mammals dolphins have live births and live in units called pods; which may or may not include their family members. Dolphins will hunt together as a pod, feeding primarily on fish and squid using techniques such as corralling and beaching their food in order to catch it.

In Hindu mythology the Ganges River is seen as sacred and is personified by the Ganges River Dolphin. The Dauphin of France used stylized dolphins as a part of the coat of arms. Dolphins are often shown in mythology as rescuing humans in need. Dolphins were the messengers of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. Dolphins were also sacred to both Aphrodite and Apollo. The name dolphin can be traced to Greek origins. Dolphin is derived from the word delphus; meaning womb. Dolphins make their home in the sea, which serves as a symbol of primordial life. Seen as a force of life itself, dolphins became synonymous with manna, or live force. Dolphin’s ability to enter the waters of life while using the powers of breath and sound, shows great intelligence and only help further the belief of dolphin as an indication of manna.
