The Scarlet Goddess Astride the Dreadform by Iron Eater

The Scarlet Goddess Astride the Dreadform

Iron Eater

Pen & ink on Bristol & Photoshop, 2012

In which an ever-shifting divine figure rides piggyback on some sort of googly-eyed monstrous god-beast, and in which the author learned that stippling is a hateful process that was created solely so artists would suffer. The result is still pretty neat, though.

I've actually brought the original of this to job interviews before as a sample of my illustration work and I don't feel the slightest bit silly about it.

If you're the sort of person who plays online text games, you might've seen this making the rounds a year or two back. That's me!

AHHHH, stippling so rarely pays off so well as here. Gorgeous.

(And because of your thumbnail choice, I immediately thought of the cover art for MAGMA's Kobaia.)

I can definitely sympathize on the sentiment of stippling, but your perseverance shows through in this piece. Such intricacy and movement!
