My second horsie was also fun. I figured I deserved a new toy all for myself. I still wish I hadn’t broken my toy.

My third horsie toy was good with money... and his hands. I really wish I’d stop breaking my toys.

I’m looking for my fourth. You know... “on the prowl”. I don’t know where I’ll meet him or when I’ll meet him. But he’s out there. Until then, I’ll get my jollies off on bringing PAIN in all sorts of ways --giggle--. And in the end, my people will love me for my brutality! I’ll make them yearn for more and more of the pain. I’ll be cruel and enjoy myself. When the thrill wears off, maybe I’ll even find a new toy?

So this art was for the launch of Borderlands 2! To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with the game. While it still had the clever dialog and morbid humor and interesting characters, I could not accept the inexplicable change in the characters from the first game. In Borderlands2, the personalities of Lilith, Roland, Brick, Mordecai were at-odds with their original selves. Heck, the whole planet of Pandora kind-of lost its personality.

Here you have a visceral savage trash-heap of a planet where life is cheap, (and short) filled with unscrupulous assholes who are all out for themselves. You play one of 4 total sadistic sociopaths who's whole reason to be on Pandora is basically a Get-Rich scheme to find "the Vault" and basically kill anyone who gets in your way.

Now... you enter Borderlands2, and your game-1 characters are all... what?? Sacrificing themselves for a a dump of a city, and fighting against the profit motive? And they're all nice and cuddly and friendly now too?

So basically they abandoned the personalities of the original characters, whom we grew to love, ENTIRELY. Like.. page-1 rewrite. The only thing they didn't change is their names. Anyway - that's my beef with Borderlands2. It wasn't BORDERLANDS. Where's the visceral violence and antisocial humor? Why have our protagonistic antiheroes become paragons of virtue overnight? Why did Pandora, arguably the worst place in the galaxy, become all touchy-feely love-fest? Its sad that they had to sell-out so completely and totally abandon the initial premise. Originality is so hard to come-by. They had it in Borderlands 1, but they lost it in Borderlands 2.

Anyway... end rant.

On a side note, when I first heard Moxxi’s Underdome music I thought it was Goldfrapp. Take a listen. It sounds too close to be a coincidence! (also there’s girls cuddling people with wolf/dog heads in the video) … interesting.
