Tranzit Chapter One

The entire world is gone. There's no one left that I know of. I must protect myself. Hello my name is Derek and this is my story about Tranzit. I wake up from my bed, my brother is not there. "Hmmm well isn’t that wired, mom isn’t in her room either." I said. I walk down the stairs and only one of dogs is in the house. My pug, his name is Roscoe P. Anyway I walk outside in my slippers because I just woke up and what do I hear, NOTHING but wind. “What?” I said. This is starting to get very scary because there’s always a dog barking when someone comes outside and there’s suppose to be car noises because I live near the interstate. I started to sweat in a nervous feeling.
I walk back inside to turn on the TV but there wasn’t any power. “Ok?” I said. “Why are there no one around and no power?” I went upstairs to put on some clothes. I brought my dog because I’m afraid. After putting on a sweatshirt, pants, and shoes I walked back downstairs to have a snack. Roscoe followed me downstairs. After feeding my dog and having a left over donut I decided if I could go onto my computer to draw on the paint application that’s already installed on the computer. My computer was dead so I took Roscoe for a walk
After walking a block there were strange noises behind me. I turned around. “Hello?” I said. I turned around to continue my walk. Out of nowhere a guy charges at me. I poled out my M1911 pistol and shot the guy, but this was no guy this was a zombie! I started to panic because I didn’t know what to do; also I don’t know if this is like the Call of Duty Black Ops games. So I decided to run to my grandma’s house. She only lives a couple blocks down.
I arrived to her house unharmed and I tried opening the door. It was locked. I pulled out the pistol and shot of the lock. I entered. “Hello, grandma, grandpa you here?” I said. No answer. I ran in every room to see if they were there. They weren’t. I took the flashlight from grandpa’s room and headed for the basement. I took the first step. Finally after 25 steps we (Roscoe and I) entered the basement. It was dark and cold.
Suddenly something grabbed me and I couldn’t scream because it was covering my mouth. I struggled to break free, but I couldn’t. A light turned on. “Derek?” a familiar voice said. I was released. I turned around to see who it was. It was my family! Mom, my brother, Grandma and Grandpa, and some of my friends. (Morgan, Andy, and Maggie). “Y-you guys are alive!” I said “Just barely!” mom said” “We barely made it here.” Nick (my bro) said “you were asleep for a long time at least a week. We had to leave you and Roscoe behind because we couldn’t wake you up.” “Has the virus spread to other cities yet?” I asked. Mom shook her head. “Not yet.” “Where do we need to head next?” I asked. “Stevens Point.” Grandma said.
