Anatomy Study by Deriaz

Anatomy Study

Deriaz

Fun little anatomy study that I made into a rhino dude at the suggestion of DrkKaiser of FA. Kind of forgot that species exists, to be honest! Decided to clean it up, make it into another example of a sketch commission that I'm considering.

Now that I know my little table is actually a drafting table, I might do more of these anatomy/muscle studies in graphite with flat color added. I don't know that I'd share them all, but I know the only way I'll get better at it is by doing them. So. Yeah.

I still find myself surprised that a human being can reach this sort of size through drugs and enhancement, and a lot of hard work. It baffles me. But hey, it's a fun challenge to draw, and I enjoy the result. I hope you do too.

Critiques welcome, as always.

    Awesome! I love the pecs.

Thank you! I'm pretty happy with that whole upper left region. Think it came out the best of all parts. Glad you approve!

This is nice muscle structure! I really love the little vein details!

Thank you! I almost forgot about the veins until near the end. I was like, "Something's missing..." I hoped that I didn't make them pop too much, or not enough -- I think the one on the flexed bicep is the best of the few.

You're welcome! I also like the ones in the legs, too! :)

This is gonna sound weird but the birds are the nicest little touch of all

Hah! One of my references had a little bird on the rhino's head. Once I saw that I was like, "Well, I can't -not- do this." It might be my favorite decision I've made on the whole thing. Well, from an amusement standpoint, I suppose, not an actual technical one.
