Dakota left her apartment the way it was, the grave of friendship her phone had become still left in the middle of the floor. Making her way towards her car was a rollercoaster of emotions, from wondering if she should explain what happened to contemplating the idea of just leaving things alone in the coming conversation. When she was in the car, Dakota had ultimately decided it would be better to talk about what happened.
She arrived at the coffee shop, and her friend was there, waiting for her. Lassy was a golden retriever who was about five feet tall, and was relatively skinny. Her body mostly had beige fur covering it, although the tips of her ears and tail, as well as her forearms and feet, had orange and yellow fur on it. Her flat chest also had orange fur, but that was covered by her pink shirt.
Dakota parked and met Lassy, the two of them sitting together at a nearby table. Immediately, Lassy could sense something was up, and was quick to question as she asked in her soft voice, “Dakota, did something happen?”
Dakota sighed, knowing something in fact DID happen. After taking a moment to organize her thoughts, she finally said, “Cameron cheated on me. I got a text yesterday saying he ‘found someone better’ apparently.”
Lassy’s eyes widened. Neither of them had thought of Cameron as the type to do something like that. The green canine was generally a nice one; he seemed quite affable and honest. Lassy reached over and put a hand on Dakota’s shoulder, feeling sorry for the fox. Lassy had been in a relationship once, but even it hadn’t ended in this manner. The two thought for a time, wondering how to move on from here. Lassy had an idea, and Dakota did as well, but both would take time… lots of time…
