Lassy and Dakota sat at the table, Dakota having her head in her hands, Lassy being the first to speak, “Well, I personally think the best option is to cut off all contact with that boy. He doesn’t deserve you if he can’t take you for who you are.”
Dakota nodded, agreeing with the golden retriever entirely. The last thing she wanted to do was talk to Cameron again, especially after having done what he did. If anything, she hoped the canine was in a much worse position now. Hell, she’d be happy to see him in a trance of sorts, working away mindlessly for some evil-minded boss.
Lassy spoke up again, “Where’s your phone, I know how to block him in your contacts.”
“It’s on the floor in my apartment… in pieces…”
Lassy remained silent for a moment, in disbelief. Dakota didn’t blame the girl, as it wasn’t every day that you heard about someone completely and utterly destroying their phone. When she had processed the thought fully, the golden retriever smiled. “Well, that’s a good start. Your phone may only serve as a reminder of that dog, another thing you won’t need if you’re trying to get over what he did to you. Do you want me to come with you to get a new one?”
Dakota shrugged, honestly being indifferent to what happened in that regard. “You can come if you want, I don’t care. Hell, you’re pretty tech savvy, maybe you could give me a recommendation as to what to buy.”
Lassy grinned, getting up from her seat and saying, “Come on, there’s a store nearby. We can pick one up there if you want.”
Dakota decided she should also stand, and did. She and Lassy went to a nearby phone store, bought the fox a new phone, and set up everything that was necessary for Dakota to continue onward.
