In between commissions I decided to draw something for myself! SHOCKER!
Felt like drawing that dumbass cat form I had back in the day in the style that a jacked way too much as a kid. Drawing in Bluth style was such a wicked crutch for me as a young artist it's almost cringe-worthy. I'd be lying if I said that I don't miss these magical days on devart though. I don't, however, miss having no artistic identity.
Anywho, here's my re-exploration of this style...and I have to admit it gave me the warm fuzzies for a moment... but I was painfully bored drawing it lol. I still can't believe I can remember this character's design. OMG that hair...where does it begin, where does it end? Is she a kitten? An adult cat? A rodent? WTF is her deal? ;)
Yes, I did see the FNAF pic [insert chopped liver snark here]
Hey this cat is 10 years old!

She is a Thing of Ambiguous Species™. :P

:S
I think if I were to seriously get going on e.g. a CGI version of my own character, he'd probably look a lot like Hammy from Over the Hedge (or maybe Surly from The Nut Job; they're eerily similar)…and I wouldn't necessarily be 100% ashamed of that. :x Any tips on how to either learn to ditch the style-jacking and learn to have confidence in one's own developing style or maybe make it not seem so blatantly ripped off? :S
(keeping in mind, of course, that I still have a hard time motivating myself to do art in general, so most of this is highly hypothetical/theoretical :x)
Nothing like a blast from the past! Maybe we will be seeing the old squirrel-form making a return soon? :P
