I promise I am not spamming =P I just thought it would be neat to upload both versions to see which one you guys might like best =D
I was very hesitant after finishing the skull designs to add color, but felt those sunflowers needed some color. Using watercolor pencils on just the petals I kept them pretty pale so they didn't stand out too too much or cover up the shading. Also added a bit of olive green to the leaves. Pretty happy with the outcome =D
What do you think? Did you like it better without the color?
This is a paper burning on watercolor paper. Which means the sepia tones were achieved by applying a heated tool to the papers surface at different temperatures to create the different tones. Its very much the same as my wood burnings and even has a little bit of the texture too!
This was originally taken from a Dover coloring book.
