I want to make perfectly clear here, to anyone who DOES NOT know who the fairy artist Amy Brown is, this is one of her fairies. I DID NOT draw this lovely fairy, though I CAN draw!

In wood burning it is typical to use images as patterns. I am just starting to work with wood burning, this image was my 6th wood burning.

I own both of Amy Browns art books and greatly enjoy her art. In tying to advance and hone my skills a bit more, I decided to attempt to wood burn a few of her fairies which were so much fun to do and were QUITE challenging! As I intended with my last Amy Brown fairy (Fire Dancer) I was going to add color to this, but just to the grapes. In the end...I decided not to. Its not that I dislike color...I had just never attempted it yet and didn't wish to ruin something I had spent HOURS on...this one I did in one sitting at a wood show we had at our local mall which totaled up to be 8 hours straight.

I favor this one over my last fairy. I think I did a better job on the wings the second time around as well as her face, though...the previous fairy had a much smaller face. Her dress is perhaps my favorite thing about this particular fairy.

Once again, this is an Amy Brown fairy, I did not draw her.
