I'm doing a history of the gryphons/griffons/griffins' forms and how they've come to be the diverse creatures we see today in artwork.

From gargoyles, the Euro's took the Griffin's design to their crests. After a while, their halves began to blend; their ears sprouted feather-lion mixes, and they became thin and lithe.
