Bettie is a young witch living in New York City in the early 1940's. She has lived a simple life so far, her Mother working as a seamstress and her Father spending most of his time at the recording studio belting out sweet music. Though very sickly as a young child that improved as she left her toddler years, and soon after that it became clear she was far from normal. She easily survived a fall that should have killed her, through her playing around with her older brothers. It was soon after that time they left the house to find work, and Bettie and her Parents have not heard from any of the three troublemaking triplets since then. This left her to try and figure things out on her own, which has thus far been unsuccessful. All she knows is there's no scientific explanation as for how she performs these feats.

They often had to go without due to the time period she grew up in, and Bettie is fairly reckless as well despite how perceptive she is. Even at a very young age this was the way she acted, and thus whether it paid off depended upon the resources they had at the time and just how stubborn she got about going out. There were times she found resources that helped them greatly- and other times she just risked harm to herself. A lot of those times is when she displayed magic.

Bettie was goaded into making her own wooden attempt at an aeroplane. She looked up a lot to Amelia Earhart- and still does, just not as much as she used to. Naturally, the aeroplane could not fly despite her attempts. It was a 30 feet fall- and some form of force field formed around her, preventing any injury save for a few splinters. They of course felt guilty, having not realized at the time how seriously she'd take their challenge.

Bettie has always had a propensity for physical clumsiness growing up, as well as feats of daring. Some were rather stupid admittedly, but that didn't stop her at the time. She's more thankful for it than anything, though her parents are very scared and worried.

Thank you very much! The lines on Winter nap were done by Avytrix, so you might want to check their art out too if you haven't already. :)
