So when I first was getting into dubstep Tiamat and I had this idea that it would be cool if there were robot dogs that made the noises and music that made up dubstep songs. Kind of like anthro radios, or mixing boards I guess. A few other people made their own units and I think the nickname "Sound Hounds" was adopted for the general idea.
This was my part of the idea and I named her/it Sub Woofer. She made up the vocals and those "bow wow wow" sounding base tones (I don't know much about the technicalities behind dubstep or techno so she's probably not that accurate). Her tail was one of those LED light things that wave back and forth real fast and spell out song titles and track info and junk.
The lights on and in her body react to the music, as well :3
Ah thanks, man... it really helps to hear that these days cuz I feel like I've lost my creative edge. I haven't been as good at character design as I used to be so I just hope people haven't gotten bored with my stuff and left. So like, yeah it really helps to hear someone say something like this. I hope I can get back into the swing of clever designs one day!
I remember these Sound Hounds. This is probably one of the coolest ideas ive seen people latch onto. really.
I would go ape if I had one of these things irl. Also I love the name "sound hounds" It makes me smile every time I read it
This concept is off the hook. I don't care if that expression is cheezy whatever this is an awesome design!! Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but the whole play on words with "sub woofer" and the fantastic name "sound hounds" is just too fantastic!!

When I had originally found your art back in 2004, I immediately fell in love with your designs. Your technical illustration skill is phenomenal, as well. The mix of your designs and abilities are what keeps me coming back to your stuff time and time again after all these years. THIS IS NO EXCEPTION GEEZ I LOVE THIS
