Okay....here's the low down, okay?

Rape is bad. Very bad. One of the worst things out there. The admins of this site know this. They are NOT trying to be rape apologists. They never ONCE (that I've read at least) suggested that the person not seek SOME kind of justice (unlike other logs from other sites that I will not mention directly).

The admins here are NOT trying to protect a rapist. Or even hide that it happened.

This site DOES have a policy against call-out journals, which the person posting the original journal was trying to avoid hitting by putting the external links in. Unfortunately, it still qualified. Probably the only way to avoid hitting it being a call-out would be to say 'this happened to me, please message me for details'. And then share identity and links with proof for those that contacted them.

The policy against call-out journals is (I'm assuming) to protect the site from things like libel and slander lawsuits...and to stop the site from becoming just a drama filled rumor mill. While this also unfortunately means that real warnings are also affected, it would be more than full time jobs for the Weasyl staff to try and police true from false in such a scenario.

This whole situation is horrible...and the Weasyl staff are trying to do their best. They are only people, and sometimes people do not react 100% properly initially. The thing on the call-out journal was policy, not protecting a rapist. The admin chat is, well, to be honest, the whole reason they have an admin chat is to hammer out things and the initial bad reactions so that they 'don't' go broadcast messed up shit to everyone. So they can brainstorm and say 'Okay...is what we're doing right, if not, what should we be doing?' weigh all the options, come to informed decision and move on. Sometimes the process isn't the prettiest, but with luck, it grinds out the proper answers.
