The D. by Ryngs

No, not that "D" you pervs!...

I had a Doctors appointment last week, another Diabetes Test and Exam. I am now 231lbs (down from 310lbs+ a year ago), 120 over 79 Blood Pressure, Perfect Heart Rate, Perfect Cholesterol, and my A1C was 5.6 (Perfectly Normal Blood Sugar). All with NO medication.

The Doctor was dumb founded, and said, “I am not ready to say you are not Diabetic, but everything you have done in such a short amount of time with no meds suggests you are not Diabetic. If you come back in 6 months and your numbers are the same, and you have no incidents in that time you are not Diabetic.” After I left, I went home a slept for 2 days, literally.

Additionally, he looked at my ribs, they were not broken, just badly bused. Possibly with torn muscle tissue. No treatment for that but Ibuprofin and rest.

In spite of the good news the 2 weeks being laid up have left me in a state of melancholy. Which I don't really want to speak of at the moment... Now to shake the melancholy and get back to my art.

I might not of ever had it. I was pre-diabetic, and most likely had a sugar spike due to stress, and illness. But everything I have read says 30-60 minutes a day of vigorous exercise and controlled sugar intake will cause you to reduce your glucose levels into normal range. Your muscles when active use more sugar then anything else in your body, and release hormones that help your insulin work properly. Body fat is also a contributing factor to insulin resistance, with exercise and diet you also burn that off. No sugar or starches (especially sodas, sweet tea, or sugared coffees), 1800 calorie daily diet, and eat a 1/3rd to 1/2 cup plain yogurt a day (I cut bananas or berries up in mine). Plus 1.5 hrs vigorous bike riding everyday.

For the ribs you might consider tiger-balm or jade dragon, both are homeopathic remedies that have been used in the martial arts community for ages for training/completion related injuries. Check them out first to see if they are applicable to your situation. ;).
