[Watcher Wednesday] What do you get up to in your free time? by Dark Violet

So, okay, this one's a very general question, but it's always one I ask; I think it's so damn important. Someone's hobbies and actions can tell a lot about them, can provide talking points and activities for socialisation, as well as just be a nice interesting question. So feel free to talk about what you do when you're not learning, working or lying comatose in bed :3

So, myself. When you see me online on Skype and I'm not working my way through a few seminar questions for University, I'm going to be doing one of three things mainly:

1: Art. Kinda obvious, seeing my gallery, but most of the time I've got an art program open and I'm working on a piece. Because of this it's hard to say how long a certain piece takes me, because I can be half working on it a lot, and jumping between it and whatever I have open. I tend to talk to people, or more commonly watching TV shows while arting, and I'm currently working my way through Battlestar Galatica, Andromeda and Star Trek DS9. (I've rewatched all of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis already. Boo ;-;)

2: Gaming. This used to be my biggest hobby, but I do it very little these days. While I'm currently trying to 100% Dust: An Elysian Tail, I'm more likely going to be playing Trouble in Terrorist Town with a group of wonderful fags. Well, either that, or lying in bed playing Pokémon <3

3: Chatting to friends; Because if there's one thing that My Little Pony has taught me, it's that cartoon horses are suspiciously sexy... but I guess there are allusions to friendship in there too. I spend a lot of time just sitting on Skype, or sometimes even F-List, tapping away on the keys to friends around the world, and you know who you all are <3

So that's my free time, what about you guys? Shall I make a prediction checklist?
I'm predicting at least one of the following~
[ ] The Always RPing
[ ] The Always Gaming
[ ] The Sporty Guy
[ ] The Fellow Artist
[ ] The "I have no free time!" hardworker

Of ya go!

In the summer I spent most days RPing, though now that I'm back in school I'll have to focus on that.

Hurray for summer holidays, eh? :P

    1. Constantly Skyping. This overlaps with RPing (both the yiffy and non-yiffy varieties.) Some days, I just go from unconscious in bed, to firing up the computer, to unconscious in bed again.

    2. Obsessively RPing. Always subby gay psudo-fox furfags who can't be bothered to finish an scene are dime-a-dozen, but one good non-yiffy RP that can keep momentum on multiple sessions is worth its weight in gold. I plan on searching out a skype-based tabletop RP or two (since that seems to be the direction tabletop RPGs are evolving) at the earliest opportunity.

    3. Obsessively looking at furry art, by which we all know I mean porn, and mostly FA at that. By which we all know I mean downloading. I've come to realize I love curating my collection... I could at this point have technology to automatically backup my files up but I don't want to. Because, what is the point of having a porn collection, if you don't actually take a good look through it sometimes?

    4. Obsessively worldbuilding. Because worldbuilding. I've recently decided to accept this is part of my genuine RL quirks - I have teetering towers of paper in my room, all notes on planets, starships, races, technologies, magics, cities, and cultures, that have yet to be fashioned into stories. These ideas just come to me. This is something that just happens, a la Six Characters In Search of an Author.

    5. Obsessively gaming. This is normal, I suppose, though my choice of games might not be. Many an hour lost to Animal Crossing, old Pokemon games I never quite finish, or old Nintendo games.

    6. Obsessively writing, occasionally arting pictures to go along with it... I find this very soothing, almost meditative. It helps me wash off the stress of the day so I can sleep. The above activities feed directly into this. Skype - form of writing. RPing - same. Worldbuilding - same. Art and gaming fuel my inspiration, which leads to even more of the above.

Something tells me you're a bit obsessive...

That's something I've noticed about you, anyway. You can flight from thing to thing rather easily (Apart from porn, I've never not seen you up for that), but when you go for it you go for it hard :3 Dedication!

that's actually the best description of me anyone's ever come to... I'm a contradiction like that so I even confuse myself :p

Just returned from vacation. First half was spent volunteering at the Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage (Moxie soft drink wing) at the Union Fairgrounds, during fair week, in Union Maine. Second half was a long overdue trip with my wife. We spent five days camping in far eastern (aka "Downeast") Maine in celebration of our fifth wedding anniversary doing tourist-type things: hiking, attending local music events, an afternoon windjammer whale watch cruise and so on.

This coming Wednesday is my traditional "Blueberry Run". I take orders for Maine wild blueberries from coworkers. The "profit" from this funds my trip to get the berries, purchase of my own berries and a day out with my mother, who really enjoys the long, roughly 7 hour roundtrip road trip. Every year, I pray no idiot rear ends my car 'cause mother and I would end up on "News of the Weird": Man and mother drown in blueberry juice after rear end collision.

Next weekend is traditionally Windsor Fair weekend with folks, siblings and spouses. Then scouts gears up and I fall into your "I have no free time" category until sometime in November, if I'm lucky.

      Vacation

      and

      Volunteering

Are two things seldom seen together :P All this sounds very much like you, from what I've gleamed from these so far :3

As for the blueberries, that could always work to your advantage. I mean, airbags seem to be pretty effective, so a blueberry bag must be pretty damn good! Plus, the ensuing explosion of blueberry juice will make for wonderful spectating.
