Character Art Trades? by omegasama
So, since I am bored and I want some art (and are poor as a church mouse), I am offering to do some simple trades (I am not thinking fancy stuff here). I would love to see people take on my characters. Especially Nat and Aeolus (see the gallery for more or ask me) since they are the ones I am currently RPing with.
I will of course do your characters as a trade. I love human(oid) characters especially, since they are what I do best. I love to design interesting outfits, so any era/style you'd be interested to see your character in I would gladly try my hand at it.
The style I will be using will be something like this, this or this (not the colour version, obviously).
Let me know if anyone are interested.

Since this is for fun, I will only do humanoid characters... and be a bit picky. If you want your character drawn that are non-humanoid, I am open for sketch commissions.

Righto (I won't draw tonight though, it's getting close to 2:15AM here in Sweden). omg, I'm sorry this took me so long to reply to. Work snuck up on me, hahaha. Oh jeez, well there is Kiche + 2 who travels a lot so his clothing is a bit of a mismatch of all the places he's been!
Or Tiasu + 2 who works in an entertainment house so his clothing is usually decadent/revealing with patterns!I think I shall draw your awesome nomad Aeolus :D!!

raises hand and waves it OH! OH! ME! Please? I'd love to just have permission to draw you some lovely fanart. I was thinking of Nat in some armor or livery. I've been listening to Agincourt and Ivanhoe while doing comics lately, and I figured he'd be perfect in some kind of brocade or tunic. I know you must already be busy, so I don't mind not having a trade in return. Just wondering if I could do that...yeah...:3

OMG!! I WANT to draw for you to! eyes Urlander And of course you may draw Nat in something like that. Have in mind his nose and his scars (which he tend to cover (see ref in the journal/gallery). He is also very vain, but not so he broadcast it.

I've already started a little comic page. Nearly done with the lineart. ^ v ^ I hope I do him justice. I've been looking at your revamp character ref sheet that you have for him in your gallery. For some reason, that photobucket png won't load for me. :O
Also, yes, omg, you can draw Urlander. blushy I just don't want to overwhelm you. I'm happy to draw Nat, he's such a fabulous guy. And SCARS....Scars are my fetish. <3

As a point of reference, the only thing you really need to keep in mind with Urlander is that he wears all dark clothing. The Sigvard cannot afford colored dyes and thus use sulfur dies, which makes the richest blacks. It's also the cheapest because the hills nearing Sigvard have easy access to sulfur. It's a dead volcanic range built high from tectonic activity of an age ago.
So, yes...All black, if you please. If he wore color, I think it'd burn him. lol

No no, the jaw is fine. I am usually mostly very anal about his nose and scars. And those you have down perfectly.

See, that's what I'm anal-retentive about too. Facial features need to be distinguishable from each character. I used to draw just the same anime style, but some very helpful critique got me to look at faces differently. I'm still struggling, but I know that my work is getting much, much better from the continued practice and observation.
Also, scars are like fingerprints. I would never alter them. >:[
Sometime will you do a full-body naked ref for Nat's scars, back, front, and side? It would be useful for things. 83

:3 Nah worries. You can take your time making me art. I am fine with just drawing doodles. Besides, it was just a quick 15 minute sketch. I just saw that you also had Aeolus to draw and wanted to try at it.
You said he wears mostly Bedouin clothing - would you be opposed to me dressing him like a Napoleon-era gentleman? His features lend him so well to post-revolutionary dress. And the idea of a man in uniform makes me swoon. <3

Well, he could always have been dressed up? Aeolus is actually from a sci-fi RP. But playing with the characters are always fun.

Hi there! I was looking at your gallery and stuff and this caught my eye. Are you by any chance still open to trades? And would my art style be okay enough for you to consider a trade? I see that you love to rp, and it just makes me glee whenever people have thought out OC's. :)
