Getting to Know Each Other by MothMonarch

Hello, friends and watchers!

I think I'm pretty much moved in here at this point. Weasyl will now continue to be regularly updated along with my other galleries! If I've done art for you in the past and you'd like it uploaded so you can collect it, though, just gimmie a shout.

This site isn't that old and a lot of us are new here to boot, so how about a little Q & A? Talk about yourself, ask about me, y'know! Why did you come to Weasyl? What do you like or want to know about my work? What do YOU do?

I got here almost a year ago, as soon as it wasn't invite-only. I liked the design and booted up an account that was then sadly neglected until last fall.

    As for about me…

I joined waaaaay back when there was a fundraiser thing to get in early - don't remember the exact details, but I liked what I saw and wanted in.

As for about you, you're fabulous and don't change (unless you want to, in which case, REINVENT YOURSELF BABY!)

and why. why do you do. how is he even a real person.

I'll collect that charm if you upload it :3

I've been on DeviantArt for a couple years, been wanting to branch out for a while, contemplated coming here for a couple months before finally setting up an account. Really liking it here so far. I do mostly cartoon anthro stuff with a whole bunch of original characters I've designed over the years.

Ever since I got settled in, I've been spending lots of time browsing the newest submissions and stuff, that's how I've found most of the artists I watch so far. Lots of talented people over here. What led me to your page was one of your beautiful moth drawings. Those are absolutely amazing!

Hey, cool! It's neat to hear where people have been and how long they've been doing their thing. I personally started putting art online through dA over eight years ago and have been branching out since. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on what you enjoy drawing and how you want to draw it!

Yeah, I've seen some neat stuff turn up on the front page. Glad you like the moths, thank you - there will be more of those, like everything else! :)

        8 years ago? Wow, nice!
The moths really are great. I like the anthro bugs too, that's not something I see very often. I really look forward to seeing more of them.

    How are you doing today?

Oh, not bad! Getting over a cold but finally getting back to work. How about you?

      • Link

I am doing well, thank you. I hope the rest of your week, and your weekend goes well!

Oh, thank you! Same in return!

I joined just recently, due to the big FA defection. I am a Flash animator for my job but I love drawing and painting when I get the chance. Furry cons was a way to get to know more artists and work on my own art. FA was more of the same! I am hoping Weasyl will continue the tradition! I'm on DA too but I like the smaller feel of a community like FA or Weasyl.

I'd love to collect the charm you made me if you have a photo handy!

Ah yeah, that's part of the reason I started moving more stuff over here as well. I'm not completely dropping my FA just yet, but I'd love to see a lot more action on Weasylo and shift focus. I still upload to dA now and then, though I'm not happy with their policies in the last few years. I like the community feel here, too - in particular, the way the collection system allows non-artists to participate with their commissioned work while still directly assigning credit to the artist. They're clearly putting effort into balancing the needs of both groups.

      Uploaded and offered! https://www.weasyl.com/submission/432763/

I got in with the fundraiser too. I liked what I saw, so I wanted to support it, and I'm very happy with the results.

I love the anthro bugs engaged in various occupations. They are full of awesome :) And the moths of course. I love moths. I always used to bring home caterpillars when I was younger.

What I do...um, I seem to be dividing my time between SketchFest, stippling, and writing very short stories. I don't do any of these things as often as I should. What I want to do most is fantasy art. So, elves, fairies, dragons, that sort of thing. I need a lot more practice though :D

Aww, thank you! I never had any luck with caterpillars when I was a kid, but now I'm raising some moths for the spring flight this year.

Oo, Sketch Fest sounds neat. Keep at it on all creative fronts! :)

Neat! I love the container with the note, "Live moths: Do not touch or eat!" XD

I took January off, because I needed a break after a hectic November and December, but I want to get back into it now.
