I may drop this site, whaddaya think? by MentalCrash

It is a big time investment posting everything I do here but I hardly ever get any engagement, and seeing the engagement numbers on the most popular pics they're nothing special either. But the biggest reason I just noticed is that a pic I posted more than an hour age is still in "most recent" in the main page.

I'll take a hiatus as I mentioned in my previous journal, once I'm back I'll likely stop posting here. If you follow me and don't want me to stop posting here tho, drop a comment below.

You can check all the pages I'm in by looking at my Link Tree.

postybirb can come in handy for posting on many sites you feel you might not have the time to use often, though I think weasyl is one of those places that if you want interactions, you'll have to interact with the community instead of waiting for everyone to come to you instead.. ^-^; I think that's how I often end up on the recently popular page, I think weasyl's pretty cool and I like the community, I made alot of friends there :3 /nbr

I already use Postybirb, but I post on too many sites, I mainly get my interactions through discord and twitter, I post on too many sites to reach out to people on new ones, if you see through my gallery you can see I post a lot of drawings. But the fact my pics stayed for I think 2 hours on the "Most Recent" page last night is my main issue, community aside it means there's simply not much content.

I'll second Hazel's comment, use Postybirb! It's always good to spread out and post in multiple places. And honestly, this is a decent site, all things considered. I'm trying to be a bit more active here myself lately. Remember to reach out and interact with others, and they may reciprocate!

My main problem is, I post on a lot of sites, and I do mean a lot of them, if you glance at my Link Tree you'll see just how many, most of my interactions are with people from my discord and on twitter, I simply have no time to reach out much more on sites like Weasyl. But as I mentioned something that just sits wrong with my is that a pic can stay on the "most recent" on the frontpage for longer than an hour before it gets pushed by others.

P.S.: I already use postybirb, is how I found out about Weasyl in the first place.

Well, if it's not costing you any extra time or effort to cross-post here, why stop? ^^ Really no such thing as posting to "too many" places as long as you can still do it with one submission. And the only way for sites to get more activity is to be part of the solution. The reason this place isn't more active is specifically because of people giving up on it! It's a vicious cycle that people need to actively fight against if they don't want the internet to just continue conglomerating to a handful of awful megasites, heh.

I looked at your linktree, and honestly I'd say that, setting the activity level aside for a moment, Weasyl's overall much better than half the others on there IMO, heh. :s

It... Does take time tho, a lot of it, look through my gallery, I do several hundred pics every year, one of the issues I have with Postybirb is organizing links since almost everything I post is linked to a different pic in some way, then once the pic is posted the coding is the problem since Postybirb leaves a gigantic code mess when I post here instead of formatting in the way Weasyl does, such as changing the linking from to < a href="" >, and adding both < div > and < br > on every new line. It may be kinda hard to explain so I can send you a screencap with an example of what the code looks like. It basically means after every submission I have to untangle a mass of code. Multiply that by the amount of pictures I post and it's a process that takes hours.

Due to the amount of stuff I post is a huge time investment with hadly any return. On all the other sites I post I've gotten people who direcly tell me they started following me there, such as Discord, Deviantart, Furaffinity, Pixiv and Twitter, it has never been the case for Weasyl.

Admittedly I don't know what to say about the linking thing. I wasn't aware you did that, heh. Not sure what you mean about the coding thing though. I've never seen that. O.o You may want to bring it up on the Postybirb Discord server, because that definitely sounds like a weird bug.

I kind of prefer checking out your art on this site.

Mmm... That holds more value for me than people just trying to defend the site just because, posting my batches here is a pain tho, and if I didn't post them I'd have barely anything to post.
