Traditional Artists?? by TristanAlexander

Where have all the traditional artists gone? I have a ton in my following list and get almost NOTHING from them posted here anymore! I am a traditional artist, I do not like digital in the least! I am so sad this site has lost so much and is so messed up now.

I agree, it is really slim right now but its also so hard to get this site to work everytime I come by to upload or to browse, really did not help. Feels abandoned. A little polish on the site would be great.

It always seems like the sites favor digital. I also can't stand it for serious work but use it for doodling in bed. I have stuff to upload but I haven't been able to scan anything. I have a 25x40 corgi on the beach ink I have been doing for well over the past year, which took up most of my time, fine art wise. I'm working with gouache right now on a bunch of side projects, but just not at the big scan day.

I am always so discouraged but I keep trying. I have my con gallery in a few weeks, it seems like the whole gallery is nothing but prints, and a few paintings which is why I am pushing myself to enter paintings this year. Last year hardly anything I did sold because naturally its not selling at the same price as a cheap prints and repros... It's supposed to be limited numbered prints only, not inkjet 5 dollar start mill art. Save that for the dealer's room!! humph. This year I made everything small so I can compete. I'll be posting most of that at the end of the month.

I've found I get more interactions with people over on Instagram. It really isn't worth all the extra steps to post on other sites. Nice to know people still enjoy seeing traditional works though. (it would help the site out to post again. Personally I've been lazy about it, and the sites are slow to upload)

It does get frustrating when every time I log in here I have to jump through hoops to get anywhere because of site errors! Please post more here...I am not on Instagram and am already on way more sites than I care to deal with.

Aye, it feels like traditional art did alright in the early days of the 'net and furry fandom when the procedure was draw-scan-post, (there was this middle period where the procedure was draw-scan-color in computer) but this last few years, the procedure is draw/color in the computer-tweet. Kind of like what happened to traditional vs computer animation. I KNOW people are making traditional art, they can't have all stopped, but I'm getting the impression the new trend is draw in real life-keep it in real life. So the 'net never sees it.

For myself, it is usually one of two things:
    1) Traditional art takes time. I have a regular career as well, so I don't get a lot of work done that I want to post.
    2) At least currently, the last few pieces i have done are commission work that either the client is giving as a gift, so I don't post until I know the recipient has it, or the client has requested I not post/delay posting.

I have a few pieces to post, just can't yet.
