Nothing much out there in the online world for me, just the typical sites outside of this one. I searched Twitter to see what I could see, using very generic terms on there (and surfing two minor app sites other times). Right now to me it felt like anime/animation type work had almost totally taken over, it was like the "everyday" subject was disappearing or did disappear. I felt like the internet has changed in the past year not just with art content but attitudes in general.
Yeah. It was funny, I got a phone call on my cellphone the other day and the caller ID literally came up with "potential spam". I mean besides not knowing anyone or anything in Buffalo. IL--I assumed it was spam, but to actually be labelled spam??? It's too easy to reach out to people and yet..............all we do is complain and hurt people instead. It's a weird world we live in now, for sure.
Generally, art gallery sites don't have the same lasting power as previously anymore due to the nature of social media being very consumerist, fast times of decay and hyperspeed production - that makes making art at a breakneck pace and completely unsustainable. Might as well as make art that is of high quality and make it have a lasting legacy instead of "look at me imma memessssssss" which decay and become irrelevant quickly.
I haven't logged in lately. Your comment is right about social media. For me it is too much to update constantly just trying to swim up a waterfall. On DA years ago it felt like art had a 24 hour lifespan very rarely would anything be commented on or faved again. Here it is a bit better for the lifespan of something but still the same feeling of fading.

I think you're right.
There's too much insanity in the real world that's leaking into the internet everywhere, making it not too much fun anymore. :/
