Yesterday, I woke up to experience immense pain around my left foot, specifically the ankle area. I couldn't walk normally, only managed to hobble around. It got worse as the day progresses, and by the time night falls, it reached the point where I couldn't even stand-up. It sucks! >_< With the addition that I had a cold the day before, my parents took me to the hospital to get both my health and my foot checked. Because I couldn't even stand-up, I had to be hauled around on a wheelchair, which is just embarrassing. x_x

I had my left foot scanned with X-ray. The X-ray results showed that the internal bone structure of my foot is pretty normal, thank goodness. However, the fact that I have an immense pain around the ankle made the doctor concluded that I could have gout. It's a good thing it's not the worse kind of gout; if it's so bad, the internal bone structure would've became quite twisted. O_o

After that, I had my blood tested as well. The blood test results showed that my blood has a pretty high uric acid level, which means that it is highly likely that I have gout after all. @_@ The results also showed something else: I also have a slightly higher than normal cholesterol level, which is bad. x_o From now on, I'll need to watch what I eat, even having to diet if necessary. I'll need to watch out for any food with high uric acid content, as well as cut down consumption of cholesterol-heavy foods such as eggs and potatoes.

This is not the first time I experienced immense pain around my left ankle. Just a month before, right smack on the Eid al-Fitr, I also felt the same kind of pain around my left ankle, which really affected my enjoyment of the Eid Mubarak with my cousins. DX Thankfully, the pain did go away after that, and I could walk normally again. The fact that it happened again just yesterday led my parents to suspect something, hence sending me to the hospital to have my foot checked.

My father said that I'm "too young to get gout." =_=

But anyway, just wanted to mention that I'm okay. =3 Having gout really sucks, though. :dead: I was given medication to deal with this gout, like painkillers to reduce the pain, and this medicine to flush away all these uric acids from my system by deliberately inducing diarrhea... Eh, let's not go too much into the details. ^_^;; Because I'm also recovering from cold, I was also given medications to deal with the cold as well, unrelated to gout treatment, but yeah. >_>

I hope to be able to walk normally soon. This is especially important because my parents will be away for the Hajj this entire month of September, so I'll be alone at home and, because my parents can only stock so much food supplies to last me for just a week or two, I'll need to be able to get out of my house to go have my lunch outside.
