(Might need to fullview to see all of the details properly!)Many of my followers might recognize one of these pieces from this piece here as my giftart to Swandog. Shortly afterwards she proposed a wonderful idea for a commission to add in a name and in turn make a matching one for her husband Sayh of his gorgeous friesian Onyx. I believe she intends to make them into shirts or something similar. I wanted to submit these as a diptych since they look perfect next to each other. First time I've ever tackled Art Noveau style letters and I must say it's kind of addicting. I used to do letters and calligraphy all the time back in grade school, and I'd like to start doing it again...
I was so happy to get a chance to draw a horse again, and one of my favorite breeds at that. I continue to have a love-hate relationship when drawing them though; it seems like you have to draw them constantly otherwise you forget how to do it right. Luckily my mom is an expert at drawing horses and gives very honest and useful critique. Some details that I hadn't noticed that she pointed out made him look that much better.
Both are done with Staedtler pigment liners on smooth pen paper, and individually they measure 8.5''x11''. Onyx belongs to while Lunacorn belongs to . Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to create a matching set; they both surpass the sum of their parts.
