History:
Critically wounded in battle, Hyshaji’s body was re-built using genetic material from a stillborn Gargoyle. As a now Dragon-Gargoyle hybrid, dubbed Arysdron, he at first felt he was a different being all together and tried to disassociate himself from his former self.
But something begun to arise within him, an almost split personality that begun wrestling with himself for control. This ‘Arysdron’, was in-fact a representation of who his Gargoyle genetic material donor would’ve become.
After a fierce battle on the mental planes, Hyshaji & Arysdron were able to accept that they were two sides of the same coin. Their hearts were connected. They were both Nightdragon.

With the ability to change between his two forms at will, Nightdragon rejoined his Storms of Balmung team members in their missions and adventures.

Biology:
Arysdron is part Dragon, part Gargoyle & possibly a little bit of Raptor, as seen from his sickle toe-claws. His wings come with a flexible 'thumb', which is able to hook his wings in various positions.

He is an artificially created creature, and knows this all too well.

While Arysdron doesn't turn to stone immediately during the day, prolonged exposure to sunlight gradually petrifies him until he cannot move at all. He can delay the process by staying out of the sunlight or simply resisting the effect, but it leaves him exhausted, akin a feeling of forcing oneself to stay awake. Regardless, he will still awaken immediately at nightfall.

Another way he can circumvent this is using his natural shape shifting abilities to take on another form.

After his two sides truly reconnected their hearts & accepting his dual nature, the sunlight weakness begun to affect him less. He was still able to enter a stone form hibernation, absorbing the sunlight to fully heal himself upon awakening during the next nightfall.
